Build a future CEO by giving business exposure to young talent

A CEO has to be apt at several functions to be successful in these times. CEOs need to be good at many things. Exposure to general management involving cross-functional work is the key to building future CEO talent.

The CEO’s job has changed dramatically over the last 10 years. Bringing business results is now a day job of a CEO and the CEO’s expanded role transforms into the role of a Chief Education Officer, Chief Energy Officer, Chief Empathy Officer, and Chief Execution Officer. The days when a CEO needed to be good at one thing is long over. Today’s CEO has to be strong in 3-4 disciplines. It is important that organisations give young talent well-rounded general management exposure to enable them become CEOs of the future.
