‘I always have positive approach towards things’

In her own words, this is what the ‘Are You In The List’ 2015 winner has to say about herself

Richa Singh - Senior HR Officer, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited

I am an Amity Business School graduate, and my association with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited, Bengaluru, as an Officer-HR in 2011, was a proud moment for me and my family. Today I manage the entire state of Karnataka as a HR Business Partner at HPCL, handling around 300 employees based out of 15 diverse locations.

Core Differentiator: Positive approach towards things

I have learnt that an intervention is successful only when it makes a positive difference in an individual’s life – a difference which alters ones paradigm and sustains for a lifetime.

Biggest Talent Priority: Alignment of employees with organization culture

Alignment of an employee with the established values facilitates a smooth integration of the employee into the organization. Such employees are more engaged and tend to develop loyal customers.

The one thing I will:

Change in HR: Dehumanizing of HR processes

In the process of aligning with the business, HR is being increasingly involved in developing interventions for enhancing performance and developing structures for facilitating work.

However, our interventions are not able to impact individuals at a deeper level. Interventions that are successful in understanding the underlying dynamics and value systems that carve human behavior can bring about sustainable change.

Retain in HR: HR Analytics

HR Professionals have realized the importance of actively implementing talent Analytics capabilities to address complex requirements for business and talent. HR Analytics has the potential to change the way HR works and should definitely be retained and explored in the coming years.

My ideas to disrupt HR:

To make HR a natural extension of individual’s self, enabling a personalized support for each employee.
