#11Agilent Technologies India: Committed to empower

Agilent’s employee first approach and focus on work-life flexibility defines its employee-centricity. The company is committed to providing an environment where employees can expand their knowledge, develop new skills, and contribute their best. Zacharias Cherian, Country Head - HR, Agilent Technologies shares, “The openness, transparency and flexibility, along with a very high level of trust between employees, as well as between employees and the management, are what make Agilent a great workplace. The endeavor is to create a culture that is non-political.” This is reflected in initiatives such as flexible office timings and the absence of an attendance maintenance system. The focus is to provide flexibility to people to make work as comfortable as possible for them.

Agilent employees are empowered to voice their feedback and suggestions. The leadership audit survey enables employees to rate their managers on 10 pre-defined questions, and managers are then held accountable for concerns raised by employees. Further, various engagement activities like annual day or the talent evening, and many other periodic activities keep the excitement on. There is also an emphasis on providing people an exposure to new jobs and skill-sets through various internal job postings to allow a learning experience. Employees are encouraged to take risk and engage in cross-functional roles for the sake of learning. Further, this is a great workplace especially for women employees because it allows them to balance their professional and personal life, as well as provides a safe environment to work.
