Who is the primary buyer of HR technology in Indian firms? Does it differ between small/medium firms and large firms?

Indian firms, both SME and large, mirror global organisations in that HR Technology procurement is led by HR but supported by IT. IT usually validates Security, Performance, Disaster Recovery etc whilst HR assesses functional capability.

What is the size of the industry of HR technology? Who are the players? How rapidly is growing? What are its unique characteristics in India?

The HR Tech industry is still relatively young and features lots of companies that use the local resource advantages to offer competitive products against the larger more established vendors such as SAP, Oracle etc.

How are SaaS based HR products changing the market?

As with other markets, SaaS/Cloud is now standard for HR functions such as recruitment, performance management and assessment but still faces challenges in critical systems such as payroll. The SaaS model of low-outlay utility is attractive but is balanced by the Security and Regulatory requirements of HR data.

Does HR technology get sold as a separate module or part of an overall ERP implementation?

Increasingly HR technology is sold separately to ERP. The advantages of selecting point systems based on their enhanced function-specific capability outweighs the strategic and commercial advantage of a single supplier.

Establishing a direct link between investing in HR systems and Net Income/Productivity

What is the forecast about the future of HR technology?
