Major C-suite movements from Jan-Mar 2021

The fourth quarter of the FY 2020-2021 has been an intriguing affair. Many C-suite leaders have been shifting their workplace paradigm while some of them have taken an internal path towards leadership.

It has been an interesting start of the New Year for the businesses and leaders as businesses gradually bounce back from the effects of the pandemic. The first three months have seen many new appointments and movements among the C-Suite. Here’s a quick look at some of the major leadership movements from Jan-Mar 2021.

January:

Kunal Mehta: Fabindia appointed Kunal Mehta as its Group Chief Technology Officer. As the Group CTO, he will be responsible for defining the IT strategy roadmap for the group and driving IT transformation through business. Previously, He was the Head of Information Technology for  Raymond Limited.

Olivier Sevillia: Capgemini announced the appointment of Olivier Sevillia as its Group Chief Operating Officer. In this role Olivier is responsible for the Group’s strategic business units and sales, with a focus on applying the Group’s deep and broad industry expertise to be a strategic business partner to its clients. Previously, Olivier had been CEO of Capgemini’s Europe  Strategic Business Unit since July 2018. 

Sunit Sinha:  KPMG in India appointed Sunit Sinha as Partner and Head of People, Performance, and Culture (PPC) of the firm. In this role, Sunit will lead KPMG in India’s human resources function which comprises talent management and strategy, driving the people culture and professional development to further KPMG in India’s operations and growth. Previously,

He was working with Accenture Strategy as a Managing Director – Talent and Organization.

February:

Kalpesh Kikani: Piramal Group appoints Kalpesh Kikani as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of its INR 11,000+ crore AUM Alternatives Business. Kalpesh comes with over 25 years of expertise in investing and financial services including a decade as founding Managing Director at AION Capital (a JV between Apollo Global Management and ICICI Group).

Swadesh Behera: Titan group is replacing CHRO Raj Narayan who is retiring from the company on June 30 with Swadesh Behera. He is joining Titan from Boston Scientific Corporation. His previous stints include Ranbaxy and Coca Cola.

Aditya Mittal: ArcelorMittal announced the elevation of Aditya Mittal, currently President, CFO, and CEO ArcelorMittal Europe to Chief Executive Officer of the company.

March:

Ratna Joshi: Pharmaceutical major Cipla has named Ratna Joshi as its new Global Head - Talent Management. Ratna comes with over 16 years of diverse experience as an HR Business Partner and Corporate/COE domains of Learning & Development, Talent Management, and Organization Development across diverse industries, in both domestic and global operations.

Anish Shah: Mahindra and Mahindra rope in Anish Shah as MD, CEO. He will become the first professional MD and CEO in the history of the Mahindra group to oversee the entire business of the group.

Pooja Gupta: Delhivery brings in Pooja Gupta as their Chief People Officer. Pooja has over 18 years of experience in different geographies and industries, driving the HR charter at scale in large multinational environments and at hyper-growth startups. 

Gaurav Timble: Coding-for-kids startup WhiteHat Jr has recently named Gaurav Timble as its new Director HR. Gaurav joins the edtech startup after almost a 10-year stint at Deloitte, where he was the Associate Director HR.
