The Monster Employment Index in India shows a 15% y-o-y growth in the online hiring activity for September 2017. Here are the highlights of the report. 

As part of the research there are 27 industry sectors tracked of which 22 sectors saw in increase in the online hiring activity. 

Some of the insights with regards to the sectors are as follows:

• Home Appliances (58% y-o-y growth, the highest), 
  
  
• NGO/Social Services (8% m-o-m increase from August, 54% y-o-y), 
  
  
• Engineering, Cement, Construction, Iron/Steel (15% growth in six months)
  
  
• Import/Export (18% m-o-m increase)
  
  
• Banking/Financial Services and Insurance (45% y-o-y increase)
  
  
• Production and Manufacturing (down 2% y-o-y)
  
  
• Media and Entertainment (47% y-o-y)
  
  
• BPO/ITES (down 26% y-o-y)

The cities which posted top year-on-year growth rate when it came to hiring activity are:

• Kolkata (33%)
  
  
• Baroda (23%)
  
  
• Coimbatore (20%)
  
  
• Ahmedabad (14%)
  
  
• Jaipur (6%)

While the cities which posted lowest year-on-year growth rates are:

• Bangalore (-1%)
  
  
• Chennai (-2%)
  
  
• Pune (-4%)
  
  
• Kochi (-5%)
  
  
• Delhi NCR (-5%)
