HUL investors approve Sanjiv Mehta's appointment as MD, CEO

According to an NDTVProfit report, FMCG giant Hindustan Unilever (HUL) said on Thursday that its shareholders have approved the appointment of Sanjiv Mehta as its managing director and chief executive for a period of five years. The decision was arrived at via postal ballot.

According to an NDTVProfit report, FMCG giant Hindustan Unilever (HUL) said on Thursday that its shareholders have approved the appointment of Sanjiv Mehta as its managing director and chief executive for a period of five years. The decision was arrived at via postal ballot.

The report added that shareholders have approved Mehta’s appointment as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the company for the period of five years with effect from 10 October 2013, with majority of 99.52 per cent votes," the company said in a statement. In July, HUL had appointed Sanjiv Mehta, chairman of the North Africa and Middle East operations at Unilever, as MD and CEO of the company with effect from October 1.
