Former Juniper Network’s corporate and legal counsel, Vijay Gadde, has been named the general counsel of Twitter.  Gadde, who is of Indian origin, was named for the top job after Twitter’s top lawyer Alexender Macgillivray stepped down without giving any reason for the move.

Macgillivray, who was the company’s top counsel since 2009, is credited with coining the motto, "free speech wing of the free speech party," Twitter is expected to go public in 2014, according to several pointers that the company has released.
