Mobile wallet company MobiKwik has appointed former Delhivery executive Sushant Kashyap as the new business head for the payment gateway and international business.

MobiKwik co-founder and director Upasana Taku stated, “MobiKwik payment gateway is one of our fastest growing verticals and will play an instrumental role in our path to profitability. Sushant’s cross-cultural experience and global expertise will be handy as we script our global growth story.”

In his current role, Kashyap will lead MobiKwik’s payment gateway vertical as well as head the company’s international expansion plans. Prior to this, Kashyap was associated with Delhivery as Senior Vice-President, sales, for over four years.

The company had launched its payment gateway in 2011 to support ecommerce startups and large enterprises with digital payment requirements. The gateway facilitates payments through credit and debit cards, net banking, EMIs, UPI, and wallets. It counts over thousands of partners spread across industries, including food, travel, utilities, telecom, health, education, among others including names such as Uber, Zomato, Dominos, Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai, Mahindra.

On his appointment, Kashyap stated, “I envisage that the MobiKwik Payment Business will process in excess of $20 Bn in online payment processing in the next two to three years. We aim to further strengthen our partner base across existing industry verticals and will particularly focus on education, financial services, utility, and new-age startups.”

This year MobiKwik has seen a slew of changes at the senior level. In June it announced the appointment of Vinayak N as the Head of the Lending Business at MobiKwik. In the same month, marketing head Daman Soni quit the company. In July, it announced the appointment of three Business heads in line with the ongoing restructuring of the senior leadership team, so as to achieve four-fold growth in the current year. It will be interesting to see how successful is the new leadership in steering the company towards its growth targets.
