Pushp Kumar Joshi takes rein as new Chairman and Managing Director at Hindustan Petroleum

Joshi had been working as the interim head for The oil refinery behemoth and has been the member of their board for almost a decade now.

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) have announced that Pushp Kumar Joshi has taken over the role of the new Chairman and Managing Director. Prior to this, Joshi was HR Director at the company and was serving as the interim head in the absence of a formal order from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).

The oil refining and fuel marketing bigwigs confirmed this in a statement, also announcing that he would be replacing Mukesh Kumar Surana, who was superannuated from his service in April 30,2022.

The ACC, headed by the Prime Minister, has now confirmed his appointment and now he will formally take over as the Chairman and Managing Director, along with the additional charge of Marketing Director at HPCL.

"During his career, Joshi held key portfolios in human resources functions viz. executive director HRD and Head HR of Marketing Division. As Director-HR, he has been responsible for overseeing the design and deployment of key human resource policies and strategies while leading human resources practices that are employee-oriented and aimed at building high performance culture," the statement said.

Joshi, 58, has been on the board of HPCL for almost a decade now.

Joshi did his Bachelor of Law from Andhra University. He also completed his Doctorate in Human Resource Management and Post Graduate in Human Resource Management from XLRI, Jamshedpur.
