Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers has been rated at Maturity Level 2 of People Capability Maturity Model (People CMM®) in an appraisal led by Rajesh Naik, Founding Partner-QAI India. The People CMM®, a quality system for HR and HRD processes owned by the CMMI Institute in association with Carnegie Mellon University has been widely used by organizations such as Pfizer, Intel, IBM, Boeing, BAE Systems, Accenture, Tata Consultancy Services, Ericsson, Samsung, Lockheed Martin and Club Mahindra among others. RCF is the first organization in the Indian public sector to achieve Maturity Level 2.

The People CMM® consists of five maturity levels that establish successive foundations for continuously improving individual competencies, developing effective teams, motivating improved performance and shaping the workforce an organization needs to implement its business strategies.

Maturity level 2 focuses on issues such as staffing, co-ordinating commitments, providing resources, managing performance, developing skills and making compensation decisions. Adoption of best practices and the refinements brought into various HR and HRD processes have helped immensely in the people development initiatives of the company.
