Richard Ventre has been named by Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) as its Chief Information Officer. In his new role, Ventre’s priorities will include executing the technology strategy that enables APSEZ’s vision of becoming a leading integrated logistics and port company.

On his appointment Ventre stated, “Having held senior technology leadership roles across several industries, most lately at Maersk APM Terminals, I am well placed to develop and execute technology strategies that deliver business value.”

Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited is one of the largest commercial ports operators in India accounting for nearly one-fourth of the cargo movement in the country.

Prior to this new role, Ventre served as Senior Global IT Director of Maersk APM Terminals based in the Netherlands. He is an accomplished IT professional with 15 years of experience in IT with a diversified portfolio of managing.

With rapid digitalization and transformations taking place, there is an unprecedented collaboration between technology and businesses, thereby increasing the influence of the CIO in HR matters. In fact, they are now being seen as cultural leaders in the current digital age. As per a TimesJobs survey of 987 Indian IT managers, 88 percent of respondents said that CIOs’ influence has increased in HR activities, with CIOs playing a pivotal role in training and upskilling of employees.
