Emami appoints Nihar Ghosh as President-HR

The Emami Group has appointed Nihar Ranjan Ghosh as its President – Human Resources. The company is a diversified conglomerate with interest in FMCG, Real Estate, Healthcare, Paper, Agro Commodities, Retail and Cement. The Group is making giant strides on transforming itself into a leading people focused organization. 

Nihar has confirmed his new role to People Matters. 

Prior to this, Nihar was working as the Executive Director – HR, Group Corporate at the RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group. According to his LinkedIn profile, he is a seasoned HR professional with nearly 3 decades of rich and diverse experience in MNCs, family-managed conglomerates, academic Institutions in India, Asia Pacific and the Middle East region. Nihar’s management and consulting assignments have spanned the fast moving consumer goods, food processing, petrochemicals, manufacturing, retail, education and healthcare industries.

A gold medalist post graduate in Social Work from the Indore School of Social Work, he has also held HR leadership roles in Johnson & Johnson Medical India and Asia Pacific, Alghanim Industries and Human Soft Ltd in Kuwait and at Profiles International in Dubai. In the early part of his career, he worked at IIM Ahmedabad, National Dairy Development Board and Reliance Industries.

Nihar is an active speaker at industry forums and hold leadership responsibility in professional bodies. He was a member of the National Executive Board of National HRD Network  (2011-2015) & was the Regional President for Eastern India – NHRDN (2013 – 2015). He was also on the Industry Advisory Board of IIM, Ranchi and currently served as a Honorary National Professor of National HRD Network, to augment industry/academia partnership and enhancing quality of HR education in business schools.
