ReNew Power appoints Ajay Tripathi as new CHRO

ReNew Power, a renewable energy company based in India, has announced the appointment of Ajay Tripathi as its Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). 

An alumnus of XLRI Jamshedpur and IIT Kanpur, Tripathi brings with him more than 27 years of experience in a number of industries like steel, cement, media, banking, white goods, application services, automobile, contact centre, R&D etc. He has handled a range of business functions, including shop floor production, equipment optimization, projects, sales etc., as well as HR focused responsibilities like OD (Organizational Development), HR Generalist, HR Consulting, Programme Management, M&A - People Integration, Talent Acquisition, University Relations and HR Business Partner etc. 

Tripathi’s earlier assignments include Senior Vice President - HR at Atos India; Executive Director - Human Resources, Global Apps & BPO at Dell; Senior Consultant - Human Capital at EY; Senior Consultant at Mercer; and Assistant Manager - Operations at Steel Authority of India (SAIL). Prior to taking up this role, he was CHRO and Global Head of HR at L&T Infotech for over three years. 

ReNew Power, established in 2011 by Sumant Sinha, develops, builds, owns and operates utility scale wind and solar energy projects as well as distributed solar energy projects that generate energy for commercial and industrial customers. It today operates more than 100 utility scale projects spread across 8 states in India. It is backed by marquee investors from across the globe such as Goldman Sachs, Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, JERA (a joint venture between two of Japan’s largest utilities companies, Tokyo Electric Power Co., Inc. and Chubu Electric Power Co.) and Global Environment Fund.
