Senior FMCG exec joins Ola as Board Advisor

An experienced FMCG executive, Rajeev Bakshi, will be joining Ola's food business in order to help the ride-hailing company create a strong strategy for brand positioning.
Senior FMCG exec joins Ola as Board Advisor

Rajeev Bakshi has been appointed as a Board Advisor for Ola Foods, the food business division of the primarily ride-hailing focused company. 

With more than four decades of experience in the FMCG sector with companies such as Metro Cash & Carry, Cadbury, and Pepsico, Bakshi’s experience covers a plethora of categories ranging from confectionaries, snacks, and the length and breadth of food retailing. He was incharge of marketing campaigns in India for Cadbury that changed the brand positioning. 

“Ola’s ambitions in the food business with a food-first approach, is uniquely placed in a crowded, but undifferentiated industry,” said Rajeev Bakshi. “With unique offerings that have been developed after immense research and understanding of consumer preferences, Ola has the opportunity to build highly loved food brands in a market that is hitherto undeserved.” 

Ola Foods team plans to tap into Bakshi’s experience in marketing and strategy building in order to innovatively market the brand. 

Bakshi started his career in sales at Lakme India and went on to head the Sales and Marketing functions in the company. He moved to Cadbury Schweppes to hold various leadership roles in India, the Middle East, and South Africa. He has also held various senior positions in the National Councils of Industry bodies such as CII and FICCI.
