In order to consolidate the senior leadership with young minds, ITC Ltd has elevated Amitav Mukherji as Head, Corporate HR. Mukherji is succeeding R Sridhar who superannuated earlier this month.

Mukherji’s appointment is in line with ITC chairman YC Deveshwar’s plan to appoint younger executives in the top management. Over the past two years, ITC has appointed a number of executives in their late 40s or early 50s in top roles

In his long professional career, Mukherji has worked in multiple functions such as marketing, sales and managing people. He was appointed as Vice President, HR in January 2006.

Mukherji is an economics graduate from Loyola College and holds management degrees from XLRI, Jamshedpur, and Cornell University.
