Publicis Sapient, the technology and engineering services firm, is planning to increase the number of employees to 20,000 in India over a period of three to five years. The company’s aim is to create a robust engineering pool of talent in the nation.

In 2015, Sapient was acquired by the French advertising firm, Publicis in a $ 3.7 Bn. The India arm of this venture will drive digital transformation by tapping into the talent pool with core engineering skills.

At present, the 10,000 employees in India are focusing on creating innovative processes based on consumer experience. With the aim of thriving in a world of work that is undergoing rapid digital transformation, Publicis Sapient is looking for talented individuals who can capitalize on global shifts such as the use of mobile devices instead of the traditional TVs.

The goal is to move the profession of engineering from back-room expertise to the front and center of the business, noted Nigel Vaz, CEO, Publicis Sapient.
