70% of Indian workers believe new tech creates more efficient employees: Citrix Study

While every other enterprise is on the brink of digital transformation in this age of AI and machine learning, a recently conducted Digital Work Personalities Study by Citrix revealed that about 70 percent of Indian knowledge workers genuinely believe that adopting new technologies would take their respective organizations to a new level. They also believed that new tech was essential to keep the company strong and employees efficient.

The study looked at about 1000 knowledge workers in India on the basis of how they feel about a variety of issues that are common in a digital work environment such as how do they save company data, communicate with colleagues on a daily basis, send work files outside of the office space, and how do they access their office environment digitally.

About 26 percent of the employees reportedly feel disappointed in their company culture because it values technology over skills and experience in the field. On the other hand, about 39 percent of the respondents reported that, in their opinion, their company lacks a complete technology support system that fosters growth.

Interestingly, when asked about their openness to new changes in their digital work habits and innovations, 70 percent believed that new technology is instrumental in making their company stronger and employees more efficient and productive.

The study has revealed that different workers approach digital transformation in the workplace with a different mindset and that creates new dynamics in the office, depending on their personas: the challenger, the power seeker, the knowledge seeker, the skeptic, are all different types of people who approach digital transformation through a different lens.

“One of the best aspects of Indian companies is the diversity of worker profiles across sesctors. Given this scenario, enterprises have to tackle challenges related to technology adoption across profiles,” said Ravindra Kelkar, Area Vice President, Sales & Services, Indian Subcontinent, Citrix. “Given this scenario, enterprises have to tackle challenges related to technology adoption across profiles. Therefore, the adaptability and flexibility of the new ‘intelligent workspace’ will be key to the success of business transformation.”
