Opposing the government’s disinvestment proposal in Coal India Ltd., one of the leading trade unions on Wednesday served notice to the company for a three-day strike starting 19 September, PTI reported.

“The All India Coal Workers Federation (AICWF) has served this forenoon of 7 August 2013, the notice before the Coal India management announcing its resolve for going on three days’ strike in coal industry against the government’s decision for divesting Coal India’s stake,” it said in a statement.

The strike will start from the first shift of 19 September and will continue until the end of the third shift of 21 September, the union said.
