TCS to cover new campuses for hiring

TCS plans to recruit 25,000 freshers from campuses for the FY 15. In an interview, Ajoyendra Mukherjee, executive vice president and global head, HR, TCS, tells Debojyoti Ghosh & PP Thimmaya of Financial Express that TCS’ workforce plans always depend on its business requirements however this year it has done something different. Revealing TCS’ campus hiring strategy, Mukherjee said, “In today’s environment the jobs are much less and students are having tough times. So we have decided to visit those campuses, which were not covered earlier, so some part of the 25,000 will come from these institutes. We have 450 accredited institutes but we visit only about 370-380. This is the first time we are going to do this.”
