Great Place has announced the 4th annual Singapore Best Workplaces study which found the same three companies which topped a list of the best places to work in Singapore last year emerge at the top of a list for 2018.

Salesforce, the American software company, secured the first place on the Great Places to Work: Singapore Best Workplaces list under the “Medium and Large Workplaces” category. Hotel Royal Plaza on Scotts and US tech company Cisco came in second and third respectively in the list.

With 473 employees, Salesforce is credited with its unique “Ohana” culture which is a company-wide pledge to dedicate one percent of earnings, one percent of products, and one percent of employee time to charitable causes.

The only hotel in Singapore that made it to the list of best places to work is Royal Plaza on Scotts. The company imbibes a management philosophy called “Spirit of RP” which the company says sets the foundation for the workplace culture with people practices at the core.

With over 700 employees, the US tech company Cisco believes in a culture which it says inspires people to do their best. According to the company, the edge comes from their people and not technology.

Listed organizations are curated and ranked by Great Place to Work on the primary basis of confidential input from employees of that organization in the Singapore office. Two-thirds of every organization’s score is based on the outcomes of the Trust Index Survey taken by employees, and one-third of the scorecard is informed by Great Place to Work’s independent audit of the organization’s philosophy on leadership and people practices in the organization, according to a statement by Great Place to Work.
