Microsoft names new MD for its India R&D operations

According to a Mint report, Microsoft Corp. has appointed Anil Bhansali as managing director of Microsoft India (R&D) Pvt Ltd. Bhansali will head Microsoft’s development centre in India and will be based out of Hyderabad, home to MSIDC, the company said in a statement.

According to a Mint report, Microsoft Corp. has appointed Anil Bhansali as managing director of Microsoft India (R&D) Pvt Ltd. Bhansali will head Microsoft’s development centre in India and will be based out of Hyderabad, home to MSIDC, the company said in a statement.

Bhansali, who was general manager of the cloud and enterprise engineering team at Microsoft India Development Center (MSIDC), replaces Amit Chatterjee, who is relocating to the company’s headquarters in the US. The report quoted S. Somasegar, corporate vice-president of developer division at Microsoft Corp as saying, “I am confident that under his leadership, MSIDC will continue its role in Microsoft’s distributed development strategy.” He relocated to India in 2003 as director of the Windows Live Platforms Services Group.
