Brain Behaviour Research Foundation of India (BBRFI) chairman Dr. Alok Mishra and the team at AIIMS has come up with a model, 4D Brain Analysis that promise to unlock a person’s personality.

4D Brain Analysis is a patent- pending model that combines four steps of analysis: Brain Mapping, DNA Mapping, Biological Mapping and Psychological Mapping. The design will help an individual to picture a person’s personality and let them understand their capabilities, competencies, behaviors to make their career decisions wisely.

Alok Mishra shared in media stating that the 4D analysis model can help in determining the innate potential of an individual, their learning styles, attitude towards approaching a problem and current level of functioning of an individual. This will not only help people to determine the field he/she can excel but will let employees figure out the reasons that can hinder one’s performance. Even companies can use our technology to find out which areas in the organization. He added, “Even companies can use our technology to find out which areas in the organization would suit the person, thus ensuring the right person for the right job.”

The analysis provides a clear understanding of what job role is suitable for a person. The analysis provides a personality assessment of individuals based on the following assessments:

Brain Mapping: It determines the mental strength and weaknesses.

DNA and Biological Mapping: It determines the IQ level of an individual. According to reports, 50% of IQ is inheritable, and rest depends on various other factors, which include socioeconomic factors, childhood upbringing, and diseases. 

Psychological Mapping: It determines the dominant areas of intelligence and learning styles.

While all of these technologies are not new, the unique feature of this analysis is that it combines all these techniques in a single model. 

Earlier, a team of researchers led by Dr. Richard Haier, from the University of California, used  Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanner to study the brains of 40 volunteers who were seeking career guidance. They compared the results to see if there was a correlation between person's brain and their aptitude for different tasks. They found structure patterns that correlated with the various kinds of ability, such as speed of reasoning, numerical skills, spatial awareness, and memory, and general intelligence.

Presently, a lot of companies are leveraging traditional personality and psychometric tests to determine the suitability of a candidate for a particular job. However, a challenge persists on the validity, accuracy and design and implementation consideration of these assessments. Models like 4D analysis is surely a first step towards revolutionizing the assessment space.
