Deloitte to hire 40,000 employees at its Hyderabad office

The current workforce in Deloitte's Hyderabad office accounts to 40,000. The company plans to double the workforce over the next three to five years.

Deloitte, one of the  "Big Four" accounting organizations and the most extensive professional services network in the world is planning to double the headcount in Hyderabad. 

The company is adding nearly 40,000 employees in its Hyderabad office over the next three to five years.

It is reported that Deloitte's other offices in India which include Mumbai, Bengaluru, Delhi (Gurgaon) will also see an increase in hiring over the next few years. 

Hemant Joshi, Technology, Media & Telecom leaders at Deloitte India shared in media, "In Hyderabad, we have 40,000 people (and) that is the biggest office at the moment. It should double in a few years, I think, in three to five years."

He further added that the consulting firm has been hiring a lot of engineers and software professionals from the best universities and lateral talent for specific skills in technology implementation and other areas. 

According to the reports, Deloitte is ramping up its presence in India as the advisory and audit companies are experiencing rising demand for outcome-based solutions including technology services.

Deloitte is also joined by its rival KPMG who earlier mentioned about hiring 8,000-9,000 employees in India to expand its global service delivery capabilities in the country.

Paul Sallomi, Global Tech, Media & Telecom industry leader at Deloitte, said the company would hire people in India across domain areas such as taxation, mobility, IT systems, mergers and acquisitions, consulting services, system integration, and finance functions. “We are building (facilities in Hyderabad) ahead of hiring, and we are hiring as rapidly as we can.” 

The increase in hiring can also be attributed to increasing competition with global and Indian tech services players such as IBM, Accenture and Tata Consultancy Services in delivering technology services, said IT services sector analysts.
