As part of the March to Million initiative, Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK) and Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) has partnered with Microsoft and Nasscom FutureSkills to train 30,000 youth in Artificial Intelligence (AI). The initiative which aims at skilling one million youth in AI by 2021 was launched this week.

Microsoft AI classroom series will impart the concepts of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Data Science to the interested students from any academic stream.

The training helps students enhance their employability by acquiring the skills that the industry requires. The sessions will commence from November 23.

IT Minister KT Rama Rao said, "The industry today, irrespective of the domain, requires smart technology-backed solutions that reduce resource utilization and enhance productivity. We need the youth of Telangana to be skilled in these areas. I am glad that TASK and TSCHE have partnered for this initiative. The students of our state must make use of this opportunity to skill themselves in these emerging technologies."

TASK CEO Shrikant Sinha said that the course will be a combination of self-learning modules, hands-on workshops, live demos and virtual classes by experts from Microsoft and Nasscom, followed by an assignment and joint certification from Microsoft and Nasscom.

The government of Telangana had earlier announced 2020 to be the year of Artificial Intelligence and various initiatives are being embarked upon to mark the significance of AI in careers as well as governance.

The efforts come as the government tries to keep pace with the evolving world of technology to enable students to be a part of this technology revolution and help upskill the talent pool in the state to enhance Telangana's appeal to global organizations.
