More and more private companies are asking their employees to work on weekends owing to stiff competition and tough economic conditions, say experts. This was reported by PTI.

Various factors, such as government holidays on weekdays and falling industry earnings owing to downturn in economy, are pushing an significant number of companies to operate on weekends as losing out to competition is not viable. According to executive search firm Top Gear Consultants, around 60-70 per cent of the organisations in the last 6-8 months have begun working on weekends to meet the deadlines and targets of the assigned tasks.
