Aviation sector hiring in full swing

Riding an up to 16 percent yearly increase in air traffic; hiring in the aviation sector is in full swing across levels. Among airlines, Dubai-based Emirates expects to hire approximately 4000 cabin crew in the current financial year and over 500 pilots across geographies. Budget airlines SpiceJet, and IndiGo are hiring pilots and cabin crew, among others. SpiceJet, which will be adding 30 additional Boeings and 15 Bombardier Q400s to its fleet plans to recruit 150 pilots and 300 crew members. In the aviation infrastructure space, GMR Airports is looking to hire people in various positions for Delhi and Hyderabad airports.

Job portals confirm the hiring trend. Recruitment index of various online job portal reveals that the demand is most for candidates in engineering, logistics, supply chain management, procurement and, accounting and finance. Given the expanding fleet and route network of foreign airlines such as Emirates, there is a demand for qualified professional candidates.
