British Telecom to transport 2,000 jobs back to UK

British Telecom, one of the leading telephone operators in Great Britain has announced that the company which currently runs several call centers in India for customer service operations has decided to shift 2000 of its call center jobs to Britain. At present, the company has over 11,000 employees working mostly in its call centers. This decision was announced at BT’s annual meeting at Livingston while answering to queries by investors. The company however clarified that the decision to revert jobs back to UK had nothing to do with the quality of service currently offered by its Indian staff. BT is among hundreds of companies from US and UK who had been under pressure to transfer jobs back to their native country.
