Infosys faces record fine in US: Report

According to a Wall Street Journal report Infosys is set to be hit with a record fine after being found guilty of using cheaper visitor visas instead of work visas for its employees. For more than two years, the Justice Department and the Homeland Security Department have investigated Infosys's visa practices, prompted by allegations that the company had improperly used business travel documents to place Indian employees in temporary positions in American companies, Wall Street Journal said.

For more than two years, the Justice Department and the Homeland Security Department have investigated Infosys's visa practices, prompted by allegations that the company had improperly used business travel documents to place Indian employees in temporary positions in American companies, Wall Street Journal said.

The report further said that the fine is expected to be announced on Wednesday. It also says that Infosys had ‘put aside &35 million’ for ‘visa related matters’.
