Q1 to witness advent of aggressive hiring

The first quarter of 2010-11 would witness a gradual but sure advent of aggressive hiring, with the employment outlook for the period jumping by 11 per cent to 58 per cent in India, according to a report released on Tuesday.

The first quarter of 2010-11 would witness a gradual but sure advent of aggressive hiring, with the employment outlook for the period jumping by 11 per cent to 58 per cent in India, according to a report released on Tuesday.

The business outlook is also up by 15 per cent and currently stands at 56 index points, said a report by staffing firm TeamLease Services Private Limited, which conducts a survey every quarter involving HR heads, CEOs and Senior Management of leading companies in India. The study, which covered 513 companies in the latest round, focuses on the employment growth potential, the business outlook and hiring forecasts with relation to the location and the company profile.

According to Mr Rajesh A R, Vice-President, TeamLease, "Industry seems to have turned the corner and intends to hire aggressively. The recovery in sentiment is smart, comprehensive and widespread - the jump in hiring sentiment is shared across geographie s and across most sectors".

"The improvement in sentiment has been studied and gradual over the past four quarters - giving us sufficient reason to believe that it is here to stay. Although global economy concerns persist, as far as the employment scenario in India is concerned, th e cheer has spread and the good times are back!", he added.
