Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi has introduced a professional quarterly evaluation system for all state units akin to the corporate sector, the latest in a series of steps aimed at bringing management tools into a party better known for its intrigue and durbar attributes, an Economic Times report said.

Weeks after he created a minor flutter in political circles by circulating a questionnaire to state Congress chiefs asking them to detail their recent political activities, the Nehru-Gandhi family scion has asked Congress' state unit presidents to draw up formal quarterly political action plans.

These plans will seek to tabulate everything from organisational reshuffles to restructuring of block and district units to holding block level meetings, seeking to dispense with the age-old system where decisions were based on random meetings with party functionaries.
