TCS plans to hire 11,000 this quarter

India's IT major Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is planning to hire 8,300 trainees and around 3,000 laterals in Q4 FY10. "We have already employed 8,703 trainees in Q3 and expect to add 8,300 more trainees in Q4 FY10. We have also hired 3,000 laterals in Q3 and given the growth we may continue to hire in Q4 as well," said by TCS' vice-president and head (Global Human Resources) Ajoyendra Mukherjee. For the third quarter ending December 31, 2009, in which TCS had registered a 34 per cent increase in its net profit on a YoY basis, the company had seen a gross addition of 12,854 employees including a net addition stood at 7692. Attrition rate at TCS during the third quarter was at 11.5 per cent, with IT services witnessing an attrition of 10.8 per cent and BPO 18.3 per cent.
