The Times of India reported that after over nine months of negotiations over wage hikes, management and union at Hero MotoCorp’s Gurgaon plant have reached a settlement, marking an end to the dispute. The dispute erupted when workers demanded increment of Rs. 18000 as a three year hike while the management was offering Rs. 7200.

The officials of the labour department, who were mediating the talks between both parties, announced that the settlement of Rs. 9000 was agreed upon by both parties in addition to workers receiving other benefits and bonuses.

According to the mediators, the issue took long to resolve because the gap between the amount demanded by workers and what was offered by management was large. The general secretary of the union, Bhim Rao Singh, confirmed that the settlement was reached during the latest round of talks held at the Gurgaon branch.
