To streamline operations and enhance strategic focus, the Godrej family has announced a realignment of their shareholdings among the Godrej Companies. This decision aims to maintain harmony within the family and align the differing visions of its members, which will, in turn, maximise strategic direction, focus, and agility, and create long-term value for shareholders and other stakeholders.

The restructuring divides the conglomerate into two main groups: the Godrej Enterprises Group (GEG) and the Godrej Industries Group (GIG). GEG, which includes Godrej & Boyce and its affiliates active in diverse sectors such as aerospace, defense, and green building consulting, will now be led by Jamshyd Godrej as Chairperson and Managing Director, along with Nyrika Holkar as Executive Director.

On the other hand, GIG will encompass publicly listed entities such as Godrej Industries, Godrej Consumer Products, Godrej Properties, Godrej Agrovet, and Astec Lifesciences, with Nadir Godrej at the helm as Chairperson. Pirojsha Godrej will serve as the Executive Vice Chairperson of GIG, poised to succeed Nadir Godrej in August 2026.

Jamshyd Godrej highlighted the group's focus on high-tech engineering and design-led innovation. At the same time, Nadir Godrej emphasised continuing the legacy of innovation with a focus on community enhancement and economic independence.

The realignment, pending necessary regulatory approvals, is a forward-looking step to reduce complexities and enhance operational efficiencies across the Godrej Companies. Both groups will continue to operate under the shared Godrej brand, signifying a unified commitment to growth and a continuation of their rich heritage.
