The 3 E approach

Talent will continue to remain a key business ingredient in 2012 and this will change the role of HR to that of a business partner and facilitator. The new HR function will work towards equipping line managers with coaching skills to optimize talent utilization and the coming year will see the emergence of a lot of people managers.

The line managers will not only work towards building coaching skills, the trend will be to work extensively on building succession plans in today’s economic scenario.

Given the slowdown, it has been noted that training programs have become expensive today, so companies will be looking at different creative ways of bringing learning into their organizations. There will be an increasing focus on education and businesses will incorporate the 3 E approach to encourage learning through education, exposure and experience.
