Netflix CFO to step down after 14 years

After working with the OTT service provider for 14 years, Netflix’s Chief Financial Officer has decided to step down. David Wells who joined Netflix in 2004 and has served as CFO since 2010 will stay until his successor comes on board for the new role. 

Talking about his stint with the company, Wells said,"It's been 14 wonderful years at Netflix and I’m very proud of everything we’ve accomplished.” 

David Wells decided to step down from his position after discussing with the CEO of Netflix Reed Hastings, and he thinks it’s the appropriate time to move on. The ex CFO will be pursuing Philanthropy as his crucial next focus area. 

Commenting on this development, Reed Hastings said, "David has been a valuable partner to Netflix and to me. He skillfully managed our finances during a dramatic growth that has allowed to create and bring amazing entertainment to our members all over the world while also delivering outstanding returns to our investors.” 

David Wells has also worked with Deloitte as Engagement Manager and he was also the board member of The Trade Desk. He is an alumnus of the University of Chicago and the University of Virginia.
