When I left to do my PhD in the US, I knew that I was coming back soon. I was in IIM-Calcutta for six years till 1973. After that, I went on a sabbatical to London Business School and Scottish Business School. So as a result when I returned I had a combination of understanding of the American and the European management. Since 1978, I became an independent consultant.
