119 million skilled workers needed

A government report states that India will require 119 million additional skilled workers by 2022 in 24 sectors, including construction, retail, transportation, logistics, automotive, and handloom. According to this NSDC report all sectors, except agriculture will require more skilled workers. The council releases a skills gap study every year to estimate the difference between availability and supply of talent in various sectors of the economy.
