Malayalam language mandatory for jobs in Kerala

The Kerala state cabinet passed a decision that proficiency in the Malayalam language has been made mandatory to secure state government jobs. Candidates who have studies Malayalam until class 10 are eligible to apply, else a candidate needs to pass a separate special language examination. The eligibility test, which will be equivalent to tenth standard Malayalam examination, will be decided by the Public Service Commission.
