In times when advertising and marketing budgets of an organisation are sky high, it is the role of HR that can be most helpful and contributory towards creating brand awareness and endorsing the right attitude and concept for the product.

“Marketing is not just about visibility in the media or expensive promotions. Marketing happens through each and every employee of an organisation and customers, business associates or general public, there is an implicit or explicit communication happening about the organisation. Given this, it is critical HR ensures that each individual is well-oriented and informed about what the organisation’s focus is, how we plan to reach there and how he/she can participate and contribute towards this, etc,” says Rajarajeswari B, head, human resources, Tally Solutions Private Limited.

Thus core purpose of the human resource function is to recruit and retain employees who believe in the company’s mission, right? The success of the marketing plans and ideas depend solely on the marketing employees hired by HR.

This is the reason why most progressive firms today are approaching HR even while making marketing decisions. It is a mantra that most organisations today vouch by. Nothing is as powerful as word of mouth and no other medium can distribute your message as honestly as your employees.
