For Raghav, empathy was one of the main driving factors for choosing HR as a career option. He feels that companies should be empathetic while making the right decisions. From a future perspective, the rise of digital and analytical HR is going to be crucial.

Currently, the Lead HR for Compensation and Benefits, he’s had a wide-ranging experience addressing different business problems using HR tools.

A learning experience

Throughout his career in HR, Raghav has worked on different ideas that have enriched his outlook towards work and business. He credits his organisation for the opportunities he’s had.

“My organisation has given me immense autonomy to work, and that free hand has led to great on-the-job training for me. I learnt a lot by working out problems and their solutions. Coming up with new ideas like Retention Scheme, organization-wide Compensation revision, compensation re-structuring etc., was tough but an enriching experience,” he said.

HR as a Strategic Function

The biggest problem statement for HR today is the wrong mindset of the people/employees towards the HR function.

“I always position the HR function as a strategic function without which the organisation can't work. I always show empathy towards people and work out the solution to their problems even if the problem doesn't concern my domain,” he notes.

The work landscape has evolved drastically in 2023, with the focus on AI being the future. Many jobs will be in danger with AI taking their place, so the continuous evolvement of skills is the key.

“The assessment tools used were very engaging and thought-provoking. The assessments led me to introspect and know about my strengths which I can use properly, and weaknesses which I need to work upon. My participation in the awards has led me to engage with top CHROs and CEOs, knowing their leadership journey has led me to create a leadership journey for me as well.,” Raghav said.
