As we step into a new year with some great learnings from 2020, a year that changed the world forever, it is time to look back and see what worked for organizations in this time of crisis, and how organizations will reinvent themselves for the future. While employee well-being and safety became a key priority, we also saw the emergence of the hybrid and flexible workplace model along with a deep focus on learning and future-proofing oneself for any uncertain times that may come in the future.

With close to 20 years of experience in the HR industry, Priti Shetty, Head of People, WeWork India is a seasoned professional with knowledge and expertise in the avenues of performance management, employee relations, reward and recognition, management and leadership development, talent development, engagement and retention.

 Prior to joining WeWork as Head of People, Priti was a part of the Flipkart family for over four years where she was Director of HR for Applied Sciences & Technology. Prior to Flipkart, she has worked with HSBC and Shoppers Stop where she successfully led initiatives at the global and regional levels in varied industries like retail, financial services, e-commerce, ITES and technology.

Priti has been instrumental in spearheading multiple initiatives to make workspaces inclusive and diverse, with special focus on the development of women. Her key area of interest is designing holistic HR strategies to develop, engage and retain talent in new age fast-paced dynamic working environments.

 In this podcast with People Matters, Priti talks about some of the biggest shifts observed across organizations in 2020, what were some of the key learnings, and how has WeWork India adapted to this time of tremendous change. 

 “Organizations, in the past one year, have navigated through change in a fast forward manner, in a way that we would have never anticipated before. They have experimented with new ways of working, challenged the status quo and shown a lot of agility and resilience. While everything else changed, the lens through which we looked at talent also changed. All these changes brought the focus on HR and going forward, the function will play a key role in helping organizations reinvent themselves and in future-proofing the workforce and preparing them for the future,” she shares.
