The personality cult: Fever from FIFA

The impetus with which one religiously watches men fighting it out for the ultimate glory in football is worth to be noticed

The impetus with which one religiously watches men fighting it out for the ultimate glory in football is worth to be noticed. A missed chance by Messi creates an ooooohh!!!!!! And makes a million hearts pound faster than usual. There is a common force which drives all these dribbling warriors.

The FIFA 2010 fever has quite a unique resemblance with today’s corporate world. Be it Maradona taking the limelight and unleashing Messi and his boys or Mukesh Ambani taking on the media and allowing the unnoticed subordinates of his company to accumulate crores. One doesn’t need to be there to do it but can do a lot by not being there, Dunga the Brazilian coach taking the media heat by himself for not picking Ronadiniho in the squad, but drives the team to win matches, be it Jochim Leow coach of Germany bearing the brunt for selecting a young German team but goes on to win matches is worth a mention. How could I miss the inspirational coach of USA Bob Bradley who plays a significant role in USA entering the last sixteen. Wesley Snider of Netherlands taking the limelight after the goal against Japan and allowing Robin Van Persie to play his natural game or David Vella’s much hyped transfer from Vellencia to Barcelona and attention in Spain is helping Fernando Torrez and his other team mates of Spain play without fear. Corporate leaders have to assign these roles also to themselves, wherein they take the brunt for the cause of others to function as a whole.
