On September 1st, CMS Business School, Jain University Campus, Bengaluru was agog with excitement; it was hosting an event on nurturing India as the next HR super power. The event which was organized by MTHR Global, witnessed a phenomenal participation of HR professionals from across the country and a host of CEOs and celebrities. The most distinguished among them were Dr Y S Rajan, ISRO Scientist, Dr R Chenraj Jain, President, Jain University Trust, Dr Pallab Bandhyopadhyay, Director, Citrix India and Dr Madan Kataria, Founder Laughter Yoga International. Dr Y S Rajan illustrated at length about how India post 1991 followed the path of shallow liberalization thereby choosing the soft route for helping the country progress. He highlighted that India needs to have a differently different mindset if she is to emerge a human resource super power. He was; however, not very positive about India's chance to become an HR superpower unless we as a Nation could learn the art of scaling up. We also need to understand that it is mainly the inner strength that makes a nation superpower rather than one's ability to outsource talent.
