AI isn’t coming—it's already at work. Microsoft’s latest Work Trend Index reveals 81% of leaders plan to integrate AI agents within 18 months, reshaping teams, roles, and responsibilities as employees evolve into “agent bosses” managing digital colleagues.
Indeed’s data shows 72% of employers raised fresher salaries year-on-year, but nearly 60% said the hike was modest—around 5%. The average offer for the class of 2025 stood at ₹3.5 LPA, below the ₹3.8 LPA expected.
The CEO stated, “From July 1 onwards, all prior work-from-home arrangements will be revoked. I recognise that this is a significant change for many, but our data unequivocally demonstrates that in-person collaboration leads to better outcomes.”
This latest round of layoffs adds to the growing number of trainees dismissed by Infosys this year, following the termination of around 300 in February, 35 in March, and 240 in April.
This restructuring follows the recent overhaul of the Renault-Nissan alliance, which saw Renault take majority control of their Indian manufacturing joint venture.
CEO Carol Tomé characterised the layoffs and facility closures as a deliberate move to adapt to shifting market conditions, stating that the company’s efforts to restructure its network and cut costs across operations were both timely and necessary.
