In the era of technological advancements, it’s not common for software to mark a watershed moment. But to some, the arrival of ChatGPT seems like one. Since Elon Musk announced his new venture OpenAI on 30 November 2022, it has been the talk of the town. The launch seems to have the potential to evolve the world of work by making engagement and analytics easier.
But what exactly is ChatGPT? When we asked the tool itself, it explained, “ChatGPT is a conversational AI model, which is capable of generating human-like text in response to a prompt, and has been trained on a diverse range of internet text, allowing it to respond to a wide range of topics.” This signifies that the AI chatbot can completely revolutionise the way people interact with technology.
But the question remains how will ChatGPT be put to use in the Human Resources field? Since ChatGPT is interactive, it can address the majority of employee inquiries, serve as an AI-based analysis tool, offer workable solutions to raise employee engagement levels and reduce the expense, time, and effort. Therefore, possibilities are endless because of its adaptability. But, is it making our world better or worse? Let’s deliberate on the same in our upcoming People Matters’ Big Questions series.
