BRITA appoints new Managing Director for India

BRITA, the German-based water filtration company, appointed Melanie Aselmann as the new Managing Director for its business in India.  Aselmann takes over from Hartmut Wolf who takes on a global role in the BRITA Group as Director- Product Marketing for Fill & Filter, the core business unit which includes the world-wide BRITA water filter jug.

As Managing Director at BRITA India, Aselmann will oversee the operations and business strategy including developing sustainable and innovative products and executing BRITA’s expansion plans in India. In her role, she will be responsible for BRITA’s growth in the water purification segment in India, in line with BRITA’s global mission and vision. 

Prior to taking on her role at BRITA India, Aselmann headed the Dispenser unit at BRITA Group, Germany as the Product Marketing Director. She was in- charge of developing and managing complete global water dispenser portfolio (B2B and B2C). Together with her team, she transformed it into a key growth driver for the BRITA Group despite it being a relatively new business for BRITA. During her professional career, Melanie was also associated with Nestlé in Germany and held multiple roles where she focused on marketing and sales for the local foodservice portfolio in the B2B sector.

 Talking about her appointment, Melanie Aselmann, MD, BRITA India said, “The potential that we have seen in the Indian market’s water purification industry is huge. I am pleased to be associated with BRITA India and lead the company to greater heights while hydrating India sustainably and perfecting our drinking water solutions.”

Aselmann holds a Masters in business administration (Diploma) with the main emphasis on marketing from one of Germany’s premier institutions- the University of Hamburg. She is also certified by the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) as an Advertising Consultant.
