OLX India hires new Chief Marketing Officer
Global e-commerce platform OLX appoints Sapna Arora as the new Chief Marketing Officer for India.
With over two decades of experience across leading brands like Reckitt Benckiser, Procter & Gamble, Nestle, and Bennett Coleman, Sapna Arora has joined OLX as their new CMO. Prior to OLX, Arora was a Director at Matrix Altlantic Capital.
"Sapna will spearhead the brand’s marketing journey with her accomplished vision and experience. She has worked on some of the most iconic brands in India and we look forward to her contribution in our next phase of growth,” said Sushil Kumar, General Manager, OLX India.
An alumna of St. Stephens College, University of Delhi and IIM Bangalore, Arora will be leading the brand marketing initiatives at OLX. With an extensive experience spanning over 20 years with some of the biggest global and national brands, she has been recognized for her contribution in building brands, creating new product categories and helping in market expansion. Having worked with both established organizations as well as startups, she has developed an expertise in general management, business operations, creating marketing programs for new products, brand management, and growth advisory.
Looking forward to her new role Arora said, “I admire OLX's strong brand recognition, high consumer awareness, and rich brand heritage. It's a product that can help consumers upgrade their lives within their means, builds upon the cultural shift of shorter ownership cycles while extending the product's life; thereby contributing in reducing the carbon footprint. I am excited to be working on the brand.”
Arora has joined OLX in the midst of several changes with OLX onboarding iProspect as their Digital Media partner and Sushil Kumar being promoted to General Manager from Chief Revenue and Strategy Officer. With disruption on OLX’s mind and focus on a two-fold rise in active users in the coming year, Arora’s expertise in market strategy and growth advisory might just be the boost OLX needs at the moment.
