The Tata Steel board has approved the appointment of Noel Naval Tata as the additional director. In the new role, he has been designated as vice-chairman. 

According to a report carried out by Business Standard, the company received recommendations of the board of directors at its meeting about the appointment of Noel Naval Tata as an additional director (non-executive, non-independent) effective March 28, 2022.

Additionally, Noel Tata is also the chairman of Tata International Limited, Voltas and Tata Investment Corporation Limited. In addition to these, he also holds the designation of Titan Company and is a board member of Kansai Nerolac Paints Limited and Smiths.

Noel has also been associated with Trent as the Managing Director for more than 11 years after which he was appointed as the vice-chairman in 2012 and elevated as chairman in 2014 which he is still continuing with.

He also serves as the trustee on the board of Sir Ratan Tata Trust and Sir Dorabji Tata Trust.
