Bucking against the trend: SpiceJet to recruit 500 new employees
In this economic climate it is highly unusual for companies to take on any numbers of on staff. This is especially true for the turbulent aviation industry. And yet that is exactly what Delhi based low-cost airline Spicejet plans to do in the coming financial year. Sanjay Aggarwal, CEO, cites attrition backfill and growth support as the reasons for this decision. In the last three months Spicejet has filled 3 senior positions including Head of Marketing and Head of Customer Service. It will now be looking to employ 60 cabin crew and 40 pilots besides those in ground services like reservation, ticketing, and customer care.
